How to Declutter and Organize Your Wardrobe – Part 2?
Step Two: Elimination
Now that you have organized your clothes based on categories that are important to you, it’s time to make some hard choices. Many people buy clothes and hold on to them forever because they have sentimental value.?
Doing so is understandable but is also the reason many people lose control of their wardrobe. It’s time to decide what clothes you want to keep and to separate them from the ones that are not as important. If you are having trouble with this step, you must push yourself through the pain and do it anyway, and you will be proud of yourself in the end. Letting go of the past is a great way to reshape your future.?
Decide What Clothes You Will Keep
Start by picking some items from your wardrobe you know you would like to keep. These items are ones that you wear a lot or have plans to wear soon, and you can put them to the side for now. Take all of the clothes you have not worn in over a year and place them in another spot so that you can decide what you will do with them. Keep in mind that you are unlikely to need items you have not used in more than 12 months.?
Donate Unused Clothes
After choosing what clothes you will keep and which ones you will eliminate, find a local company that accepts donations. The clothes you no longer wear could make someone’s day. Although you are working on your wardrobe, you can also make the world a better place in the process, creating a win-win situation for everyone involved.?
Some people forget that others are not always fortunate enough to own extensive wardrobes and fail to consider making donations as a result. Keeping an open mind and a warm heart is how you improve your life and help those in need at the same time.?
