Expect that sales people will try derailing you from your plan the second they see you are in the market for an elegant piece of clothing. They will compliment you so that you feel good wearing the item they are selling, and they will try offering discounts or limited promotions to get you to spend more than you had planned.
Follow these tips to dodge the sales staff and remain focused on your goals. In addition to sticking to the plan, give yourself time to think before spending your money. If you don’t love the piece the second you see it, don’t let the sales person seduce you into buying it.
